September 2026

In-app Support, Faster Reporting & Harvest-parity Refinements

Through 8 September, we focused on making support easier to reach, improving the last mile of invoicing and reporting, and hardening the move from Harvest.

  • Support reply notifications — added notifications when the Keito team responds to a support request.
  • Zendesk time tracking — expanded the controlled Zendesk integration with a unified timer and manual time entry workflow inside the agent sidebar.
  • Asana production readiness — strengthened the private-beta App Components integration, task links, signed actions, project discovery, and import/sync feedback.

Invoices & Estimates

  • Invoice billing contacts — choose an existing client contact and show their name as an attention line in the invoice preview, public invoice, and PDF.
  • Invoice attachments — made attachments available from the invoice, added generated detailed-time reports, and allowed files to be shared with clients.
  • Resend invoices — resend open or paid invoices while preserving the invoice’s message history.
  • Clearer invoice emails — improved MIME formatting and deliverability, included formatted invoice amounts, and kept due and payment dates stable across timezones.
  • Expense project grouping — retained project attribution when expenses are grouped into invoice lines.
  • Estimate parity — improved automatic numbering, compact PDF layout, label controls, and VAT-exclusive amount visibility.
  • Accounting safeguards — improved Xero tax selection, invoice-number compatibility, edit-after-sync behaviour, and US QuickBooks tax handling.

  • Faster time writes — moved project-total recalculation off the time-entry save path and reduced delays on high-volume workspaces.

August 2026

Deeper Billing Control, Project Financials & Integration Expansion

August was a broad product month: more precise invoice construction, stronger project controls, richer reports, and new integration and API workflows.

Invoices, Payments & Retainers

  • Partial time and expense billing — select individual time entries and expenses when building an invoice instead of billing an entire period at once.
  • Manual invoice reminders — send an on-demand reminder and configure invoice-specific reminder behaviour.
  • Receipt delivery — attach expense receipts to invoice emails, combine receipts into one PDF, or download them without sending an email.
  • Customer summary documents — optionally produce a concise client-facing invoice summary while retaining detailed supporting records.
  • Draft consolidation — combine compatible draft invoices into one invoice with safe ownership and numbering checks.
  • Client statement portal — optionally give a client access to a statement of invoices, payments, and balances.
  • Client-wide retainers — fund work across multiple projects for the same client and preserve correction history.
  • Per-client annual numbering — restart selected client invoice sequences each year without affecting other clients.
  • Detailed invoice controls — choose detailed-time fields, document columns, unit labels, service-period behaviour, manager visibility, owner, and project-note presentation.
  • Reply-to addresses — configure where client replies to invoice emails should be delivered.
  • Invoice API workflows — create invoices from tracked time and expenses, update draft lines, send messages, download PDFs, and inspect message history through API v2.

Estimates

  • Project and task attribution — connect estimate lines to the work they represent and carry that context into converted projects and invoices.
  • Document controls — configure estimate columns, unit labels, tax visibility, translated labels, and compact PDF layouts per document.
  • Client responses — allow clients to accept or decline from the public estimate and notify the sender of the response.
  • Stable editing — preserve line order, long descriptions, cleared taxes, numbering, and project links through edits and conversion.

Projects, Planning & Reporting

  • Task and person budgets — add task-level progress, per-person hour budgets, and billable-only hour budget options.
  • Project financials report — compare tracked work, internal cost, billable value, invoiced value, and remaining project position.
  • Monthly budget history — retain and display historical monthly budget values instead of applying today’s budget to every past month.
  • Richer report navigation — drill from time summaries into client, project, person, task, and entry-level detail.
  • More reporting periods — added semi-monthly periods, Last Quarter, fiscal dashboard slices, month navigation, and copy-previous-week workflows.
  • Fixed-fee analysis — make fixed-fee inclusion explicit and keep uninvoiced, paid, and period reporting aligned.
  • Actual and rounded time — expose both original and invoiceable rounded durations where the distinction matters.
  • Cost centres and export controls — include project cost centres in Entries exports and add safer limits for very large exports.

Team, Time & Access

  • Per-member task restrictions — restrict a project member to an explicit set of tasks when needed.
  • Manager project teams — allow scoped managers to maintain teams for projects they manage.

  • Interface themes — added accessible light, dark, and system appearance preferences.
  • Time-entry policies — added required-note coverage, two-step rounding configuration, multiline notes, safer deletion, and separate timer-restart behaviour.
  • Inactivity recovery — the desktop timer can privately detect inactivity and ask the user what to keep, without changing recorded time automatically.
  • Delegated entries and expenses — administrators can split entries or record an expense for a teammate with the same access checks as the underlying records.

Integrations & API

  • Xero automation — added opt-in invoice sync on send, more reliable payment sync, item-first revenue routing, precise tax and unit amounts, and safer numbering.
  • QuickBooks workflows — added project-to-sub-customer mappings and a controlled QuickBooks Desktop IIF export.
  • Asana App Components — opened a private beta for creating and linking Keito time from Asana task context.
  • ClickUp time sync — opened an allowlisted design-partner beta for linked ClickUp and Keito time.
