Keito for Slack: a private beta preview
Work often starts in a conversation and ends on a timesheet. Keito’s Slack integration shortens that path: run /keito to start a timer, stop it, log completed time, or check where your hours stand. The time still belongs in Keito, alongside entries from the web app and other integrations.
The private beta is live for selected workspaces on every Keito plan: Solo, Pro, and Business. The integration is not yet a public Slack Marketplace listing. A Keito administrator connects the workspace, and each member links their own account before recording time.
Track time where work is discussed
/keito start opens a project and task picker that respects your Keito access. Add a note if your workspace requires one, then start the same timer you see in Keito. If a timer is already running, Keito asks whether you want to keep it or switch. It never silently replaces one.
/keito stop stops your timer. /keito log 1:30 Retro notes opens a manual-entry form for 90 minutes of completed work; 1.5 means the same duration. /keito status shows a snapshot of your current timer. You can open the app’s Home tab in Slack to see your connection and latest result, then review or edit the entry in Keito’s Day view.
See an hourly budget without exposing financials
/keito budget shows the hours used, total, and remaining or overage for a supported hourly-budget project. It includes a snapshot time so readers know when the figure was calculated. Monetary budgets, rates, costs, notes, and per-person breakdowns stay out of the Slack response.
Budget replies are private to the person who ran the command. An administrator can separately approve a public internal channel, review an hours-only preview, and choose to post it. Channel sharing has its own beta switch and may remain off while time tracking is tested. Private, externally shared, Slack Connect, and unapproved channels are excluded.
One workspace connection, individual identity
The workspace installation and a person’s account link are separate steps. A Keito owner or administrator connects Slack through Settings → Integrations → Slack. Each member then runs /keito connect, signs in to Keito in their own browser, and confirms the masked account back in Slack. This final Slack confirmation keeps a forwarded browser link from silently connecting another person’s identity.
Keito asks Slack for only commands, chat:write, and channels:read. It does not request message history or read channel conversations. Disconnecting a person or uninstalling the app does not delete previously recorded Keito time.
Join the beta
The private beta is open to Solo, Pro, and Business workspaces, but Keito must enable each workspace before its administrator can install the app. If your team wants to try it, contact Keito support with the Keito workspace administrator’s email. We will confirm availability before you install.
