Daily Task Rates
Set a daily price for task-based billing and let Keito value the actual hours proportionally. Daily pricing is off by default. A workspace owner or administrator enables it; existing permissions still decide who can edit task and project rates.
Enable daily pricing
- Open Settings → Workspace preferences → Daily task rates.
- Turn on Enable daily task rates.
- Set Hours per billable day. The initial value is 7.5 hours; accepted values are 0.01 to 24 hours, with up to two decimal places.
- Choose Save daily rate settings.
This is a pricing setting. It does not change anyone’s working schedule or weekly capacity.
Set a task’s default daily rate
- Open Manage → Tasks and create or edit a task.
- Choose Daily as its rate basis.
- Enter Default Daily Rate and save the task.
For a billable project using task rates, open its task configuration to use the task default or choose an explicit Hourly or Daily override. Enter the daily override and choose Save rate. Rate-editing permissions still apply; a daily task default does not change a project that bills by another rate basis.
How the amount is calculated
Billable amount = tracked hours × daily rate ÷ hours per billable day
At £650 per day with a 7.5-hour billable day:
| Tracked hours | Billable days | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| 3.75 | 0.5 | £325 |
| 7.5 | 1 | £650 |
| 11.25 | 1.5 | £975 |
This does not round each calendar date up to a full day. The saved daily rate and billable-day length determine the value of the recorded hours. Currency rounding applies to the resulting financial amounts.
Saved time and invoices
New time using daily task pricing records the applicable rate and billable-day length. Changing today’s task rate or billable-day length does not automatically reprice saved entries. Imported and older entries without daily pricing retain their existing hourly treatment.
Eligible daily-priced work can be added to invoices through the normal workflow. Daily invoice descriptions retain recorded hours and the daily tariff; grouped lines may combine work. Existing approval, billing and invoice locks still apply.
Turning daily pricing off stops new daily configurations. Existing daily rates remain available, and saved financial history is preserved. Use the existing explicit rate-change workflow if historical repricing is intended; changing a workspace default alone does not do it.
