Personal Settings

Customise your individual Keito experience without affecting other team members.

Profile Information

Update your personal details:

  • First name and Last name — How you appear across the workspace.
  • Email address — Used for login and notifications.
  • Phone number — Optional contact number.
  • Timezone — Your local timezone. Affects how times are displayed and when you receive reminders.

Notification Preferences

Control which email notifications you receive:

Activity Notifications

  • Timesheet approved — When your submitted timesheet is approved.
  • Timesheet rejected — When your submission is sent back for corrections.
  • Project assignment — When you’re added to a new project.
  • Over-budget alert — When a project you manage crosses its budget threshold.

Reminders

  • Daily personal reminder — A daily nudge to log your time.
  • Weekly timesheet reminder — Reminder to submit your timesheet before the deadline.
  • Weekly time report — A summary of your tracked hours for the week.

Marketing

  • Product updates — Occasional emails about new Keito features and improvements.

Each notification type can be independently enabled or disabled.

Display Preferences

Some display options follow your personal settings rather than the company default:

  • Timezone — Override the company timezone for your own view.
  • Time format — 12-hour or 24-hour preference.

Time Entry Preferences

Project and task picker order controls how your own Track time choices are presented in Day and Week views:

  • Recent activity first promotes valid recently used projects and tasks.
  • Project and task A–Z keeps projects under their client and sorts projects and tasks alphabetically.

This does not affect anyone else in the workspace. See Project and Task Picker Ordering for the exact ordering rules and how favourites, billability groups, search, and keyboard selection work.

Under Settings → Preferences, Tab key in Week view chooses what happens when you press Tab after typing hours into a Week view cell:

  • Next day (default) saves changed hours and opens the following day. Shift+Tab saves changed hours and opens the previous day. With unchanged hours, Tab follows the normal focus order to Notes when it is visible.
  • Notes field moves focus from Hours to Notes without saving or opening another day, even when you have changed the hours. Shift+Tab from Notes returns to Hours. If Notes is hidden, Tab follows the normal focus order to the next available control.

Click Edit beside Tab key in Week view, choose Notes field, then click Save. In Week view, type hours, press Tab, and add your note. Press Cmd+Enter (Mac) or Ctrl+Enter (Windows) from Notes to save and close the cell.

Your Tab preference applies across your workspaces on the same account and does not affect teammates. It is independent of Enter key in Week view, which chooses where Enter takes you after you type hours:

  • Next day (default) saves the cell and opens the following day.
  • Next row, same day saves the cell and opens the next project and task on the same day, so you can work down one day’s entries in turn. After the last row, Enter saves and closes the cell.

Changing your Tab preference leaves your Enter preference unchanged. See Week View for every keyboard shortcut in the grid.

Timer Preferences

Timer restart behavior controls what happens when you press Start on a stopped entry:

  • Continue the same entry adds every resumed segment to one accumulated duration. The row’s start and end show its latest segment, while timesheets, reports, approvals, and invoices use the accumulated total.
  • Create a new entry leaves the stopped row unchanged and starts a separate row whose duration matches its own clock window.

The setting applies to future restarts and does not change existing entries. See Restarting Timers for an example and guidance on which option to choose.

Changing Your Password

Password management is handled through WorkOS AuthKit:

  1. Go to your profile settings.
  2. Click Change Password or use the SSO provider’s account settings.
  3. Follow the authentication provider’s password change flow.

Account Security

  • Keito uses WorkOS for authentication, supporting SSO and OAuth 2.0.
  • If your organisation uses SAML SSO, authentication is managed through your identity provider.
  • Session management is handled automatically — you’ll be signed out after extended inactivity.
