Budget Tracking

Keito shows budget progress inside each project so the people responsible for delivery can compare recorded work with the agreed hours, fees, or internal costs. Project budgets are included on Solo, Pro, and Business.

Overview

Open Projects, choose a project, and review its report and budget summary. The project report brings together hours, billable value, internal costs, invoiced value, and uninvoiced value according to your permissions.

Keito does not currently provide a separate workspace-wide Budget Report page. A saved Project Budget Report created by the Harvest importer opens the reporting area as a starting point; use each project’s budget summary for the authoritative live progress.

Budget values

Depending on the budget type and your permissions, a project can show:

Value Description
Budget type Project hours, project fees, task hours, task fees, or project cost
Budget The configured hours or amount
Spent Recorded work or cost consumed so far
Remaining Budget minus recorded progress
Progress Visual percentage of the budget used
Period Total project or monthly budget, where configured

Interpreting the Report

  • A standard progress bar shows consumption within the budget.
  • An over-budget state shows when recorded work has exceeded the configured amount.
  • Budget notification settings can warn selected people before or after the threshold is crossed.

Use the project report period control to review this week, last week, this month, last month, all time, or a selected month where the project view supports it.

Using the Budget Report

Common use cases:

  • Weekly check-in — Review active project budgets to catch potential overruns early.
  • Client meetings — Show clients how their budget is being consumed.
  • Resource planning — Identify projects that may need more budget or a scope change.
  • Month-end review — For monthly budgets, review consumption before the reset.
