Audit Log Exports

Keito Business includes Audit Log CSV exports with recorded values before and after each change. Workspace owners and administrators can use them to review changes to time entries, approvals, projects, invoices, and settings.

Download an audit export

  1. Open Reports → Audit Log.
  2. Choose the period to investigate.
  3. Apply any category, client, project, task, owner, performer, or action filters.
  4. Select Export → Export as CSV.

The CSV includes all matching audit events, not just the current page, with one row per event. The date column is the event’s UTC timestamp, not the date the time was worked.

See what changed

The CSV includes the date, event, owner, performer, changed fields, audit event ID, and record ID. Repeated record IDs help you follow successive changes to the same record.

Paired before this change and after this change columns appear for fields recorded in the selected events. For time-entry edits, these can include project, task, hours, notes, billable status, and billable rate. Updated events show their recorded changed fields; creation and deletion events can also show recorded snapshots.

For example, a recorded billable-status change from true to false shows both values. A cleared billable rate shows its previous number and Not set afterward. Rates retain their recorded numeric value; the export does not convert currencies.

Can I see the original value?

Before this change means the value immediately before that particular event. It does not necessarily mean the value when the record was first created.

To look for creation values, include the record’s Created event in the selected period. Its after this change columns show the creation snapshot where one was recorded. Older or imported records may not have a complete creation history. Keito does not fill missing history with the record’s current values.

Understand empty and unavailable values

Export value Meaning
Blank cell The field is not part of this event.
Not recorded The historical snapshot does not contain that value.
Not set The value was explicitly cleared or unset.
Empty The recorded value is an empty string.
Not applicable The before side of a Created event, or the after side of a Deleted event.
0 or false A recorded zero or false value, preserved as entered.

Project, task, and client references show their current workspace name alongside the recorded ID in brackets. These names are resolved when you export; they are not historical name snapshots. If a reference is no longer available in the workspace, the CSV shows Unavailable with the recorded ID.

Plan and permissions

Detailed audit exports require a Business workspace and an Owner or Administrator role. Managers do not receive the detailed before/after columns. A plan upgrade does not override role permissions.
